Running a business from China is anything but a sure thing. This entire region has been suffering from a lot of uncertainty for years now, and most businesses have been holding on by finding customers outside of their local markets. If you're looking to keep your business from going under, or if you have a new business that you would like to see take off, then you're going to need to start focusing on exporting. Western countries are probably going to be your best bet, and there may be none better than Australia. It's not going to be as simple as throwing up a website and beginning to sell though. Here are some things that you're going to need to be aware of/have taken care of before you can export from China to Australia. Do You Really Stand To Make A Profit When You Export From China To Australia? Exporting is not going to be the perfect answer for each and every Chinese business. A lot of entrepreneurs will make the mistake of thinking that any potential customer is a good customer, and this is what sends them into the red permanently. Before you even begin trying to export you're going to need to get with your accountant, a local customs agent and preferably owners of similar businesses in your area. You're going to want to be well versed in the legal issues and the costs that you're going to face every time that you export a product. If everything seems feasible, then you're good to move forward. Just understand that this method of business is not going to be viable for everyone. Is What You Plan To Export Both Safe And Legal To Transport? Australians are a pretty open minded group of people; and they have proven more than willing in the past to accept exports of all different kinds from most countries. Still, they have standards and are going to look out for the safety and well being of their people. This piece is not going to be able to account for all of the different types of products that you may be looking to export, so you're going to have to do your due diligence. If you're not going to be able to export from China to Australia, try not to despair. There are going to be other options for you. If your business WILL be able to safely perform commerce with this country, then it's time to move forward to the next step! Will You Be Able To Deliver In A Way That Makes Your Customers Happy? Being able to export to Australia is one thing. Being able to export to Australia in a way that is quick, safe and efficient for your customers is another thing entirely. Once you know that you won't be losing money and that you won't be going to jail for conducting business it is time to get all of your logistics in order. Shipping costs are going to take the largest bite out of your bottom line. You're going to have to do a lot of research to find a shipping partner that is both fast and affordable. It CAN be done though, so don't despair! Your business is about to take a huge step forward. This can be a bit of a nerve-racking time...few companies are ever willing and able to go international. As long as you plan things out though, you're going to be just fine. Your Australian customers look forward to getting their hands on your products and services!
